I am a stay-at-home mom with a 5-year-old and a 3-year-old. I enjoy doing anything outdoors and doing hands-on activities. I believe that children of all ages learn best through hands-on activities and by using their problem-solving skills. I have my associate degree in early childhood Educator from Southeast Tech in Winona, MN. I also attended Winona State University for my bachelor’s degree.
I believe that childcare should be a safe, caring place where children are free to speak their minds and grow. I believe in creating an enriched environment for children that will benefit their social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. I also want to create an environment that includes the parents’ involvement and feelings. I will use strategies to ensure children help with morning meetings, classroom jobs, and problem-solving skills. I expect children to move at their own pace and if they need help, I will be there to support and guide them. I feel that kids love to feel independent and get great self-esteem from goals they meet, such as encouraging children to dress themselves (ill be there for any support need), use the bathroom (washing their hands the correct way), clean up after themselves as well ask to carry their plates to the table (even if they spill that 100% fine that’s a great learning moment). I love to encourage them to try it first and if they can’t get it well work together to get the job done! I do ask parents to help children learn some independence at home as well such as letting them explore their closets and choose their clothes and letting them dress themselves! They will be so proud of themselves.
After needing child care for my two daughters, we opened in March 2022. Ms. Josie has a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and has been in childcare for 10 years.

Learning Wagon Preschool and Childcare provides an environment to our children and families to be involved in the community while providing a safe place for children to learn and grow.
We value our community’s need for high-quality childcare. With this in mind, we respect all the families who walk through our door and join our childcare family. We can’t stress enough how much we rely on respect and honesty when it comes to staff-family communication.
Learning Wagon uses play-based curriculum. Some may see a child playing, but they are learning their shapes, colors, sharing and teamwork by being architects, teachers, princesses, and artists. They are learning how to express themselves and be creative.
